(Amkor Technology, Tempe, Arizona) A semiconductor packaging company that was founded in 1968 in South Korea by the Kim family. Sales offices were also established in West Chester, Pennsylvania, which is why Amkor stands for "AMerica and KORea."
In 2005, sales moved to Chandler, Arizona and then Tempe. With factories all over Asia as well as Portugal, Amkor designs, packages and tests chips. See
