kernel). The term may also be used to contrast platforms; for example, a Linux vs. Windows codebase.
(2) (CodeBase) A database engine for Windows, Mac, Unix and Linux from Sequiter Software Inc., Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Compatible with dBASE file formats and most development environments, CodeBase is used in applications for desktop computers and handheld devices.
